🐒 A Specialist Primate Zoo

Twycross Zoo is renowned as a specialist primate zoo and is home to a wide variety of monkeys and apes, including the UK’s only group of bonobos. Set in more than 80 acres, the zoo houses around 900 animals of more than 160 species, including many native species in its Nature Reserve. You can walk with ring-tailed lemurs in their new walk-through enclosure, see giant tortoises sunbathing in their grass area, and watch penguins take their daily walk. Twycross Zoo is also the only place in the UK where you can see the four great apes.

Zoo keepers present regular talks and feeding sessions, where you can learn more about the animals, including chimpanzees, penguins and meerkats.
